Vault: Cloud Storage

These terms are an agreement between you and Cognify Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited, a company registered in Pakistan ("we", "us"). They cover your use of the Vault: Cloud Storage app and the services behind it ("Vault"). By using Vault you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Vault.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Vault is a private cloud storage service. It lets you upload your own files from your phone, organise them in folders, and view, download or share them to other apps. Your files are private to you. Vault has no public sharing links or shared folders.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to use online services in your country if that is higher. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use Vault only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
You may not use Vault if the law prohibits you from doing so.
Guest use. You can start without an account. Your guest cloud is linked only to the app on your phone. If you uninstall the app, clear its data, or lose or replace your phone, you will lose access to your guest cloud, and we will not be able to restore it, because we don't know who a guest is. We may delete a guest cloud that has not been used for 180 days in a row, together with its files.
Accounts. You can sign in with Google to create an account. This lets you open your files on another phone, and your guest files move into the account. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for everything that happens under your Vault account. Tell us at info@cognify.ltd if you think someone else has accessed it.
The free plan includes 5 GB of storage (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes). Files in Trash count towards it until they are permanently deleted.
Individual files can be up to 250 MB for guests and 2 GB when signed in, and a cloud can hold up to 10,000 files.
We may change these limits. If we reduce the free storage allowance, we'll tell you in the app in advance and give you reasonable time to download or remove files. A reduction will never delete files you already stored without that notice.
Vault is currently free. We may offer paid plans with more storage in the future. Paid plans will be sold through Google Play under Google Play's payment terms, with the price shown before you buy. Additional terms may apply to them.
You own your files. We don't claim any ownership of what you upload.
To run Vault, you give us permission to store, copy, transmit and display your files, and to create preview images of them, only as needed to provide Vault to you. This permission ends when your files are deleted from our systems (see our Privacy Policy for how long that takes).
You are responsible for your files and for having the right to upload them. That includes respecting other people's privacy and intellectual property when you upload photos, contacts or documents about them.
Keep other copies of important files. We work hard to keep your files safe, but no storage service can promise that data will never be lost. Vault should not be the only place you keep files you can't afford to lose.
You must not use Vault to:
store or distribute child sexual abuse material or any content that sexually exploits minors. We report such material to the authorities;
store or distribute content that is illegal where you live or in Pakistan, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
store or distribute malware, or use Vault to attack, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any system;
use Vault as a content delivery network, file-sharing service, or to host files for the public;
get around storage limits or security measures, create cloud storage in bulk or automatically, or reverse engineer or overload the service, except where the law allows it;
break any law or Google Play policy, or help anyone else to.
We don't monitor or scan your files. However, if we receive a credible report or a valid legal request, we may investigate, remove content, or suspend or close the related cloud. Where appropriate and lawful, we'll tell you why.
If you believe content stored in Vault infringes your copyright, email info@cognify.ltd. Include:
the work you believe is infringed;
enough information to identify the content;
your contact details;
a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised;
a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
Deleted files go to Trash and are permanently deleted after 7 days, or sooner if you empty Trash. You can delete your whole cloud at any time: open the Account tab and tap Delete my cloud and files. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Our Privacy Policy explains what is removed and how quickly, and how to request deletion without the app.
You can stop using Vault at any time, and delete your cloud as described above.
We may suspend or close your cloud if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if continuing would create a real risk of harm or legal exposure for us or others. Unless the law or an ongoing investigation prevents it, we'll tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to download your files.
We may stop offering Vault altogether. If we do, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice in the app so you can download your files, except where that isn't possible for legal or security reasons.
We improve Vault over time and may add, change or remove features. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Vault after that, the updated terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Vault and delete your cloud.
Vault uses Google Sign-In (if you choose to sign in with Google), Google Play (to distribute the app, and for payments if paid plans are added), and infrastructure providers named in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Google's services is also governed by Google's terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.
Vault, including the app, its design and the Vault name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use, in line with these terms and Google Play's terms.
We provide Vault with reasonable care and skill. But as far as the law allows, Vault is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that files can never be lost or corrupted.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that the law says can't be limited.
As far as the law allows:
we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill;
our total liability to you for all claims relating to Vault is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Vault in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) USD 50.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. They also don't affect your mandatory consumer rights.
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over disputes about them.
If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts where you live. For example, if you live in the UK or the EU/EEA, you may bring a claim in your local courts.
Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at info@cognify.ltd so we can try to resolve it informally.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of our business, or to another company that takes over Vault. If we do, these terms and our Privacy Policy will continue to protect you.
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Vault.
